Ein Gesetz der Logik besagt, dass die Konklusion nur das beinhalten kann, was schon in den Prämissen steckt.

Erinnert mich irgendwie an die Definition einer Ontologie:

Ontologie ist die Lehre vom Sein, bzw. von den grundsätzlichsten, allgemeinsten, elementarsten, fundamentalen und konstitutiven Eigenschaften, den Prinzipien, den grundsätzlichsten Wesens-, Ordnungs- und Begriffsbestimmungen des Seins.

Was man so alles an der Uni lernt. Ist zwar alles richtig. Man kann es aber auch anders ausdrücken.

Amazon is one of the big players who combine a shop system with user interaction and user generated content. In this way, it was amazon, who started to use user ratings for products.

Now, there is a new way of user integration (via Techcrunch): Amazon is starting a video platform. Every user can upload nearly every video and can combine this video with products that can be bought at amazon. The idea is, that each user can earn money by uploading a video. I think, that’s a really great idea. We will see, how others (like youtube) will react.

But I think, there is one big problem. Amazon doesn’t allow to use links in videos. Why does anyone want to publish a video? Because he or she wants attention. Like in every community, they want to be distinguished. I think, that couldn’t work without using links. There is a big part of the video community, who don’t want this money but who want to be distinguished. And if you remember who much you could earn with amazon advertisement in the past, you will know, that this can be a really big problem.

Does anybody know an open source text editor, that could handle really large files. The files are > 300MB. I don’t know why, but I have often such files. I only know UltraEdit, which is able to handle such files. But it isn’t open source. Is there any solution (windows).

Not open source, but freeware: JujuEdit. It has opened my 950 MB file without problems.

Heute hab ich den ganzen Tag nur damit verbracht, Updates einzuspielen und hab dabei den Strohhalm noch auf einen anderen Server umgezogen. Tja, aber leider nicht richtig geprüft, ob alles geht. Und dann war es auch schon geschehen. Es funktionierte nicht sofort. Eigentlich kein Problem. Dummerweise lasse ich aber alle Fehlermeldungen per Mail an mich schicken. Wenn alles normal funktioniert, ist das sehr hilfreich, um schnell reagieren zu können. Meine Mailbox hat diese Aufmerksamkeit heute morgen aber schwer getroffen: es liegen gerade über 5000 Fehlermeldungen im Postfach. Das will erstmal gelöscht werden.

Naja, dafür ist jetzt aber auch die neueste Version von Zimbra installiert. Ich verwende das Mailsystem nun schon seit über einem Jahr (schon seit es in Beta verfügbar war) und bin auch von der neuesten Version schwer angetan. Das Update funktionierte tadellos - dauerte nur seine Zeit. Aber wirklich ein sehr gutes Stück Software!

I have search an alternative server management software for several months now. Until now, I mainly use Confixx and it has done his job. But the developer will not support it any more. In my opinion, the replacement called “Plesk” is not useable. I have tested it as admin, as reseller and as client. Sorry, but I think, it is really bad.

After reading many forum messages and searching a lot, I have found IspCP Omega. It is a VHCS2 fork. The first impression is very good. The installation on Debian was fine. It is definitly an interesting and active project.
